Leading this project are seven second-year students.
With the cooperation of the famous local pastry shop “IL ROSA,” they went through numerous trial creations and successfully completed three types of sweets!

・Snowball cookies
・Pudding

The idea for these recipes came from “Likuni Phala,” a popular porridge served in Malawian school meals (made by mixing corn and soybean powder with hot water).
The resulting treats feature a gentle taste that highlights the natural, rustic flavor and texture of the ingredients.

The club members started selling locally produced Malawian coffee in 2024. Over the past two years, they have held more than 10 sales events, donating over 200,000 yen—equivalent to about 10,000 school meals!
Driven by their desire to “help people feel closer to Malawi” and “expand support even further,” they took on this new challenge of making sweets.

Debuting at an Event! Spreading the Message: “High Schoolers Can Do It Too!”

They unveiled their completed sweets at the “Tokushima Ethical Day” event held at Fuji GRAND Kitajima! They carefully explained Malawi’s current situation and their project to customers who came to buy the treats.
They also took the stage at a workshop focused on social issues, passionately conveying that “even high school students can contribute to international aid!”
Enjoying delicious sweets leads to smiles on the faces of children far away—the passion and action of these high school students are truly inspiring!
