Seibo is an International School Feeding NGO headquartered in Japan that aims to be at the forefront of a global movement that will impact our world forever.

We implement school feeding & provide school meals in partnership with local communities. School feeding carries many benefits- education, nutrition and health, gender equality, food security, poverty alleviation- in one single meal.

Imagine our world if every hungry child in it were to receive a meal at school. It would mean that girls from the poorest homes would be sent to school for a hot meal & receive an education. Educating girls means that you educate the next generation. Consider the impact education has had on you and think of the sheer justice implicit in ensuring the same future for all children. We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone. Let’s not wait.

Our world produces more than enough food to feed everyone. Yet, 815 million people worldwide suffer from hunger, and 155 million children are malnourished. (WFP “How close are we to #ZeroHunger?”）If nobody takes responsibility for this, the problem will not go away. We know about injustices in our world but knowing doesn’t always translate into compassion. If we really want to make a difference we all need to be involved- personally. Your taxes make a difference but they don’t challenge you to change the way you think, the way you live. We need to change that. Remember we make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give!

Seibo is a charity. If we receive a donation we send it direct to areas of need to provide school meals. Our fundraising activities are centred in Japan – a country with the unique experience of being both an aid recipient and an aid donor.

As a charity in Japan we face unique challenges also.
We believe we can achieve more and reach more hearts by means of fundraising through social enterprise- by doing charity by doing business. Our corporate donors have agreed to underwrite our social enterprise costs as long as we can prove we are multiplying the value of the donation. In return we commit to sending a minimum of 90% of all individual donations received in Japan to areas of need for school feeding. It’s a win-win formula but it needs your involvement to work.

Every contribution to Seibo is valued and helps save young lives and transforms these lives through a school meal & education. Seibo supporters include hundreds of volunteer-cooks in Malawi as well as donors in Japan and around the world. Your contribution- no matter big or small is welcome. But let us not be indifferent to those in need.
