Tokushima Ethical Day 2026
Date:2026.08.26

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, students from Tokushima Municipal High School hosted a booth at the “Ethical Marche” during the Tokushima Prefecture-sponsored “Tokushima Ethical Day 2026” at Fuji GRAND Kitajima. The students sold official NPO Seibo items alongside original products created to fund international aid efforts. Thanks to strong community attendance, the students’ enthusiasm helped expand the reach of global cooperation starting right from everyday food choices.

Event Overview
Date & Time: Sunday, August 23, 2026 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Venue: Fuji GRAND Kitajima, 1F South Mall

Featured Products

-Original Cornmeal Sweets: Specially crafted treats made from the exact cornmeal ingredient used in Malawian school lunches (such as Likuni Phala).
-Grade AA Malawian Coffee: Premium coffee offering the rich flavor profile of Malawi’s highest-grade beans.

Event Highlights
Student-Led Engagement & Advocacy: Students managed the booth, articulately explaining product origins, child nutrition challenges in Malawi, and the critical need for educational support to every visitor.

Impact Through “Ethical Consumption”:
The cornmeal sweets and premium coffee were warmly received, giving shoppers a hands-on experience of how simple daily purchasing decisions directly support international relief.

Fruits of Experiential Learning:
Building on their partnership formed in 2024 and their presentation at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, this “glocal” initiative connecting Tokushima to the wider world earned widespread praise and encouragement from local residents.

Future Outlook: Building a Sustainable Local-Global Ecosystem
Using this event as a stepping stone, Tokushima Municipal High School and NPO Seibo will continue expanding partnerships with local businesses across Tokushima Prefecture to manufacture new products using Malawian cornmeal and coffee beans.

Proceeds generated through these regional partnerships directly cover school lunch costs for children in Malawi. Providing a daily warm meal improves child nutrition while acting as a powerful incentive to attend school, broadening educational opportunities for the future.

Guided by the philosophy of “Doing Charity by Doing Business,” this initiative aims to foster a sustainable ecosystem where local economic activity and global outreach mutually reinforce each other.
Thank you to everyone who visited the booth and supported this collaborative effort.
