Seibo Activity Report: Mar-April 2020
March-April   NEWSLETTER

Dear Seibo Supporters,

Times of crisis require a reaction. In Malawi park rangers tell a story, perhaps apocryphal, of rhinos being the only animal to react to bush fires not by running away but by running headlong into the flames using their feet to stamp out fires. We see the same bravery in our own countries- front-line medical & care workers with limited protective equipment holding the line against COVID-19. In Malawi however the fight is further complicated by poverty. But react we must. Since March 23rd schools in Malawi have closed but our team in Malawi continue to provide food for those in need. Prioritising the most vulnerable nursery school children we have switched from school to home feeding & are in the process of organising food parcels for primary schoolers. While we hope and pray that Malawi can avoid the fate of other countries we also need to react to an unfolding crisis and welcome all the help we can get.
To help Malawi in its time of need you can choose to donate or order a subcription of tea/coffee from our 100% donation website: www.warmheartscoffeeclub.com

A Welcome Hot Meal- thanks to you!

Before schools closed and an indefinite lockdown announced Seibo Malawi allocated 6 x new 'Seibo Kids' beneficiaries to partnering nursery schools.

These children, deemed by their own communities to be most vulnerable are now receiving vital food packs at home. In addition to 20 kgs of food stuffs Seibo are also providing beneficiary families with Dettol tablets for hand-washing as well as bars of laundry soap as preventive measures against the virus.
