On Thursday, March 5, 2025, NPO Seibo celebrated its 10th anniversary by hosting a special online event connecting Malawi, Africa, with the rest of the world.
This event was held in collaboration with Virtual Photo Walks and Seibo’s partner, Seibo Maria. It was streamed via a Starlink connection, funded by Virtual Photo Walks Japan and supported by Mobal.
Despite the early morning timing in Japan, participants joined from around the world, making it a valuable opportunity to connect with the reality on the ground in Malawi in real time.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated!
“10 Years of Impact” Told Through Three Stories

This livestream introduced the work of Community-Based Childcare Centers (CBCCs) in Malawi through three key stories.
1. A Step Toward Sustainability: Visiting the New Factory

The first highlight was Seibo’s newly established local factory.
Here, nutritious porridge is produced using locally sourced ingredients to support children’s daily nutrition.
This factory represents more than just a production site—it symbolizes a commitment to building a future of self-reliance rather than dependence on aid.
2. Kachimera CBCC

Next, we visited Kachimera CBCC.
Despite facing challenges such as harsh natural conditions, simple facilities, and limited resources, the children continue to learn and play with bright smiles.
Behind this is the strong commitment to education supported by local volunteers and the community.
3. 10th Anniversary Ceremony: Celebrating the Future Together
Finally, the livestream shared scenes from the 10th anniversary celebration, filled with music, dancing, and heartfelt speeches.
Even through the screen, participants were able to celebrate together with the children and the local community, sharing both the journey and achievements of the past decade.
The Role and Importance of CBCCs
CBCCs are not just preschools—they are vital centers that provide both early childhood education and nutritional support.
For many children, the morning porridge is essential energy for learning. It is often the reason they are able to attend school.
Without it, attendance drops, and in some cases, centers risk closing, especially during periods of food shortage.
These activities are sustained through the dedication of community volunteer committees and partnerships with the Government of Malawi (Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare).
Technology Connecting the World Through Compassion
This event highlighted not only how a simple meal can open the door to education, but also how technology can connect people across the globe and foster shared compassion.
Being able to share both the realities and hopes of children in Malawi across distances represents a new model for international cooperation.
Looking Ahead
These past 10 years have been made possible through the support of many donors, partners, and community members.
As we move into the next decade, we remain committed to providing more children with access to nutrition and education.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
