N Blood Coffee Roaster and Student's Visit
Date:2026.09.06

Opening the door of the shop located in Onoharanishi, Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture, we were greeted by the pleasant aroma of coffee roasting and the warmth of wood. What we discovered there was a deep passion and devotion poured into every single cup of coffee, along with a heartwarming support system connecting that cup to the future of children in Malawi, Africa.

In this article, we would like to share plenty of insights about the shop’s unique appeal, the reasons why it is loved by the local community, its collaborative project with NPO Seibo Japan, and the valuable “hints for how to live our lives” that we learned through this interview!

1. Heartfelt Coffee and the Warmth of Wood — The Charm of Local Cafe “N Blood Coffee Roaster”

Meticulous Craftsmanship for a Cup That Is “Gentle on the Body and Environment”
The concept of N Blood Coffee Roaster is “Gentle on the body, friendly to the environment.”
The shop handles rare green coffee beans, such as organic and naturally grown beans cultivated with care without relying on pesticides.
Before roasting, they perform a meticulous sorting process called “hand-picking,” inspecting each bean individually to remove any defective ones.

Using a small-scale coffee roaster, the owner finely adjusts the flame level down to the millimeter, taking into account the day’s temperature and humidity, the machine’s subtle quirks, and the customers’ preferences.
Seeing how he diligently pursues quality every day with the desire to “always offer fresh coffee,” we felt a powerful passion for his craft as a coffee roaster.

In addition, gluten-free sweets are available to complement the coffee, gently comforting the bodies of all who visit.

Why It Is Loved by Customers:

A Cozy Atmosphere Reflecting the Owner’s Warm Character!
During our interview, we naturally overheard comments from visiting customers, such as “The wooden interior makes it feel so cozy and comfortable,” and “Whenever I come, I can enjoy delicious coffee that is freshly roasted and freshly ground.”

The cozy atmosphere of the cafe is a direct reflection of the owner’s sincere and warm personality.
For local residents, it serves as an important hideaway space (a “third place”) where they can take a relaxing breather in their daily lives.

2. Passing the Expo Legacy to the Future! NPO Seibo Japan x Malawi School Meal Support — A Bridge Between the Local Community and the World Stemming from an Expo Encounter
Another major feature of this shop is that it connects with the world through coffee.
It all started with an encounter at an event related to the Osaka Expo (Post-Expo).

The owner, who had long been interested in “support through coffee,” co-hosted a talk event at his shop with NPO Seibo Japan (represented by Makoto Yamada).
Deeply sympathizing with Seibo’s mission and passion for the local community in Malawi, he launched an official partnership starting in June 2026.
This holds significant meaning as a sustainable “Expo Legacy” born from Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

School Meals and Hope for Children in Africa Delivered by a Single Cup of Coffee
At N Blood Coffee Roaster, through coffee trade and donating a portion of sales, they support providing school meals to children in Malawi, Africa.

“Customers enjoy the coffee I roast, and that directly leads to nutrition and a better future for local children. Being involved in that brings me more joy than anything else.” — Owner of N Blood Coffee Roaster

Furthermore, the owner shared with a smile, “If I ever have the chance to visit Malawi, I want to see everything with my own eyes—from how coffee cherries grow in the fields, to harvesting the fruit, all the way to becoming the green coffee beans we see.”
We truly realized that Mr. Nakai’s (the owner’s) rich sense of curiosity and inquiry directly contributes to the deep taste of the coffee served in his shop.

3. Great Learnings for High School Students — Interview Achievements and “Hints for Life”

For us, the students of Assumption Kokusai High School, this interview was an irreplaceable opportunity for inquiry-based learning that went far beyond a simple “shop introduction.”

The owner, Mr. Nakai, reflected that since starting the coffee shop, his way of working became much more flexible, sharing that “my leisure time increased, and through meeting various people, the scope of my life expanded dramatically.”
The motto he values most in life is, “Live without regrets, and die without regrets.”
Because we only have one life, his strong determination to leave no regrets behind in any decision made us feel deeply encouraged and inspired.

A Message to High School Students Shaping the Future
At the end of the interview, addressing our generation who will shape the future, the owner offered valuable advice:

1.Do not be afraid to expand your connections with people while you are young.

2. Gather information actively, and instead of keeping it to yourself, share it with those around you.

3. Cultivate an attitude of broadening your circle of connections and sharing information.

Conclusion
Through this interview, we learned that behind a single cup of coffee lies a craftsman’s meticulous passion, a warm heart caring for children across the globe, and a powerful philosophy of “living without regrets.”
We, the students of Assumption Kokusai High School, will continue our inquiry into international aid and our future paths, drawing inspiration from the activities and mindset of N Blood Coffee Roaster!
