Lecture at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies
Date:2026.01.21

Seibo had the opportunity to conduct a class at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies on January 20.

Prior to the class, the students had already researched Seibo and Malawi to some extent. During the Oral Communication course taught by the faculty member, the session was conducted in a Q&A format in English, with many questions focusing on the structure of NPOs and on business.

Many of the questions centered on the challenges of running an NPO in Japan for the purpose of supporting Africa, as well as the difficulties encountered when providing international support as a Japanese person using English. Based on his own experience of studying English in Japan rather than abroad and using it professionally, Seibo’s representative, Mr. Yamada, spoke about both the challenges and the rewards involved.

The students themselves already had considerable experience in intercultural settings, and we felt that they listened with great interest.

By continuing to engage in discussions with university students who are seriously considering how they can contribute internationally in real-world contexts, we hope to further broaden the scope and reach of our organization’s activities in the future.
