Seibo Japan has been officially invited to participate in the international meeting on the Global Compact on Education, organized by the Dicastery for Education and Culture at the Vatican in celebration of the Holy Year.
The meeting gathered professors from Catholic universities across Italy, including LUMSA University, and Seibo was honored to be the only participating NPO, providing a valuable opportunity to represent Japan and demonstrate the active role of faith-based social organizations on the global stage.
The Global Compact on Education is a worldwide initiative that seeks to reaffirm the identity of Catholic education while exploring ways to respond to the needs of contemporary society. Seibo resonates deeply with this mission and has long been engaged in activities that connect education and the protection of life. Through this participation, Seibo aims to further expand this educational movement in Japan and lead new initiatives that bring hope to the next generation.
In addition, Seibo’s representative—who was the first member from Japan selected for the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life—also attended its meeting and gained direct insights into the Vatican’s latest directions regarding youth ministry and the global pastoral approach toward young people.
These experiences have laid a solid foundation for building stronger networks between Catholic education in Japan, the Vatican’s educational vision, and universities and high schools around the world.
Seibo will continue to act as a bridge that connects education, faith, and social contribution, empowering young people in Japan to engage with the global community in a spirit of solidarity and hope.
