NPO Seibo hosted a workshop with members of IBM Japan, Ltd. (hereinafter “IBM Japan”) as part of their “Skill-Based Volunteer” initiative. The workshop focused on exploring how enhancing our marketing efforts in Japan can further contribute to supporting school feeding programs in Malawi.
Workshop Overview

During the opening session, Seibo presented the significance and impact of school feeding in Malawi, referencing data such as improvements in school attendance rates. We also shared an overview of our organizational structure and integrated partnership network spanning Japan, Malawi, and the UK, explaining how these partnerships generate a positive impact on local communities in Malawi, as well as detailing our journey so far and our future vision.
Following the presentation, participants were divided into working groups to discuss key themes including social media strategy, deepening existing donor engagement, corporate outreach strategies, and expanding educational initiatives in Japan.
To conclude, each group integrated their ideas and received feedback from Seibo on potential actionable steps, wrapping up with a clear roadmap for our next milestones.
Key Insights and Takeaways from IBM Japan

By discussing how to effectively approach our existing donors and inspire them to stay engaged with the future growth of Africa and Malawi through school meals, we gained invaluable insights into leveraging our existing resources for sustainable growth.
Furthermore, we received insightful, sharp feedback on how to quantify Seibo’s social impact for new corporate prospects—making the tangible social value and significance of corporate involvement clearly visible.
This workshop provided a wonderful opportunity to map out our next steps as we aim to foster human capital development in Africa through Malawi, creating hope for the world together with Japanese corporate partners.

Moving forward, Seibo will continue to engage in active dialogue with corporate partners, educational institutions, and supporters, striving to grow as an organization that bridges Japan and Africa through our support in Malawi.
