Tokyo After-School Feeding Report: Jan 2020
Date:2020.03.13

It is true that in Happy House our main goal is to provide after-school meals for children. However, we believe that physical growth is not the only important thing that we need to pay attention to. Mental growth is equally important too 🙂 That is why in Happy House, not only we try to provide meals, but we try to give the children a meaningful interaction to ensure growth inside & outside ^^

Thanks to our donors, we were able to provide meals twice a week this month! We cooked so many delicious foods together. The food that we offered ranged from curry rice to various fruits and vegetables.

We also played together & assisted the kids when they needed help with homework. Every interaction between the staff and each child is unique. Some of them are more open and can easily make conversation with the staff while some need more encouragement to open up more. We try our best to be more involved and keep up with their personal life, in order for us to monitor their progress academically and non academically.

One of the “worth mentioning” wholesome moments at Happy House was when one boy offered to help another girl who was struggling to carry her heavy bag home. He put her bag on his bicycle and they walked home together. The thing is, these two were infamous for always fighting with each other :p The staff were glad that they matured enough to put everything behind, and become friends again 🙂

Please keep on supporting us and follow our blog to read more about fruitful stories such as this one.

See you next time!
