In October 2025, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) hosted the “JASALT (Japan Association of Self-Access Learning)” event for Japanese university students. NPO Seibo participated in this event, providing Malawian coffee and tea to offer students an opportunity to experience international understanding and social contribution firsthand.
On the day of the event, Seibo staff and volunteer students worked together to set up a café-style booth. Visitors were able to enjoy fair-trade coffee and tea produced by small-scale farmers in Malawi while learning about the current state of support for developing countries and initiatives in social business.
Seibo’s activities go beyond simply providing beverages; they aim to spark students’ interest in the lives of rural communities and producers in Malawi, as well as in their educational environments. At this event, students also gained hands-on experience in international cooperation and social entrepreneurship by participating as volunteers themselves.
Going forward, Seibo will continue to expand opportunities for learning and交流 through Malawian products at educational institutions and events both in Japan and abroad, promoting awareness of sustainable social contribution activities.
