On Monday, the 6th of October, online Seibo internship was held, where we covered the subject of the poverty crisis in Malawi. Over the course of this session, we discussed in depth the various crises that Malawi is currently facing and listened to a talk from Makoto about his firsthand experience witnessing the challenges the people of Malawi endure.
Upon being educated about the extreme poverty that Malawi is currently facing, the intern students debated our own ideas on how we would aid the Malawian people in their fight against poverty. One student came up with the productive proposal to help conduct a bake sale within her school in order to raise money that could be donated to the schools and families of Malawi, whilst another student said that her aim is to implement a recreation of the Osaka World Expo pavilion within her school in order to spread information on the poverty in Malawi.
