Tokyo After-School Feeding Report: Nov 2019
Date:2020.02.05

Initially, Seibo focuses on supporting school feeding program in Malawi through the donation we received in Japan. Our goal is to alleviate social issues caused by hunger around the world that is why these days we are expanding our contribution to Tokyo Japan too.

Our mission with Seibo is to continue on providing meals for children including those in Japan. As you may already know, we support groups that support school lunches such as VIDES with their Happy House Program.

In November we were again able to provide dinner for twice a week. Not only that, we also tried to be actively more involved in giving support to the children as needed. For example by playing with them and helping them with homework.

For the main meals we have many delicious menu with healthy fruits and vegetables. Our goal is not just to provide meal, but also a balanced meal with a meaningful time for the children. We believe these two are essential ingredients for kids whom are still in their growing period ^^

Winter is starting, unfortunately many of our regular attendees were falling sick while at the same time there are many events and festivals being held in their schools. Moreover, some of the kids also needs to prepare themselves for the upcoming entrance test to Junior High and High Schools. More reasons for us to put our attention for these kids, so they can have guidance in their day to day life. We are proud and excited to continue our collaboration with VIDES and hopefully some other feeding support organisations in the future.

What is VIDES Japan?

It is a Japan branch of an international NGO composed of 42 countries.
VIDES has a mission to support and solve the social problems that the world has, such as child hunger.

Today, the Japan is an economic powerhouse, but on the other hand, about one in six people in Japan is in “relative poverty.” VIDES helps children solve poverty by starting a program called “Happy House” to support school lunches for children in 2016. We carry out activities to support school lunches for children.
