School Feeding began on the 7th of June 2017
This nursery is registered with the Blantyre City Assembly and is run by a committee chaired by a Mr. Frank Ziyaya. In June 2017 there were 50 children enrolled of which 20 are boys and 30 are girls.
The caregivers assist on a volunteer basis and in return the parents assist by contributing 150 Malawi Kwacha (approx. 20 yen) per month to provide basic necessities for the caregivers.
The nearest water at the school is a borehole located 500 metres away. There are however 2 x toilets on the premises. The school building was supported by the Desta Youth Promotion (a Canadian Charity) with support from the Chamba villagers along with funding from the Malawi Social Welfare Department.
The day begins at 8am and can end as late as 10pm on occasion.
