At ABC Kids English in Saitama Prefecture, Seibo gave a presentation in English about Malawi, introducing its natural blessings of coffee and tea as well as our activities in Japan using these products.

The session was conducted for elementary school students split into three grade-level groups. For the younger group, we discussed the daily lives of children in Africa and the vital importance of school meals. This gave them an opportunity to discover a new world, relate to children close to their own age in Africa, and feel the transformative power of food and education.

For the older students, we explained our support framework in Japan in English, laying the groundwork for them to understand and present social business models in English themselves.

The classroom also plans to host a charity sales event. By working alongside Seibo staff and international interns from the U.S., students will be able to practically apply what they have learned, express themselves in English, and gain hands-on experience addressing concrete social issues.

Looking ahead, we are planning interactive sessions with people in Malawi. We hope that speaking online in English with our local partners and aid recipients will be a valuable experience for the students! Exposing children to diverse varieties of English from a young age and connecting them with the people of Africa—who will shape the world’s future population—serves as a great stepping stone for their future.
