Lecture at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University
Date:2025.05.10

On May 9, 2025, I had the honor of attending both a lecture and seminar at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Oita Prefecture.
I am truly grateful for this valuable opportunity!

The class I participated in was titled “Sustainable Business,” and the seminar was also conducted by the same professor.

During the session, I shared Seibo’s philosophy on school feeding and explained how its added value connects food with education, and eventually translates into vocational skills—ultimately generating long-term, sustainable impact for Malawi’s future.

I also discussed the sustainable and locally rooted farming practices used to grow Malawian coffee, which supports our fundraising efforts. I explained the process of importing this coffee to Tokyo in partnership with Ataka Trading Co., Ltd., roasting it, and branding it as part of a charitable initiative.

Within that context, I spoke in concrete terms about how our NPO strives to engage directly with producers while building a sustainable organizational structure in Japan. I also addressed the limitations and creative strategies possible within the framework of Japan’s NPO law, as well as our overall management strategy.

This particular class stood out for the clarity and strategic depth of the discussion, and I was especially impressed by how the students’ feedback was immediately actionable—both in the seminar and the lecture.
