On June 27, 2026, the “HOPE no Denki Marche ~Tomoshibi~” event was held at the Higashimatsushima City Omagari Community Center in Miyagi Prefecture. Seibo’s high school student volunteer, Nao Sasaki—who primarily operates in Sendai and Higashimatsushima—attended the event alongside Seibo staff members.
Nao, who spearheaded the planning and participation for this event, shared her thoughts:
“I decided to participate in this event because I wanted to raise awareness about school meals for children in Malawi right here in my hometown of Higashimatsushima, making international support feel closer to home. At the same time, I hoped that having high school students lead activities locally would bring fresh energy to our community.”
Despite the hot weather, so many people visited the event and stopped by the Malawi booth. We are thrilled to announce that our Malawi coffee (drip bags, beans, and grounds) completely SOLD OUT!
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us.
In total, we raised 45,050 yen in donations. This amount is enough to provide about one full year of school meals for a nursery school in Malawi!

Additionally, we were featured by the local radio station, “Radio Ishinomaki”!
While the broadcast is limited to the Ishinomaki area, it will air on Monday, June 29, between 16:00 and 18:00 (FM 76.4MHz).
We would like to express our deepest gratitude for this wonderful interview opportunity!
Moving forward, we will continue to make the most of our local connections and youthful student energy to expand this circle of support and contribute to our local community.
Lastly, Nao is currently running a crowdfunding campaign, and all proceeds from today’s sales have been dedicated to this project!

Thank you all for your continued support!
