Salesio Gakuin Donation Report
In December of last year Seibo received a wonderful donation from Salesian Gakuin Catholic High School. The students recently fundraised as part of their school’s activities centred around ‘FairTrade’ using our own Social Enterprise Coffee from the ‘Warm Hearts Coffee Club’!
Students from the school’s Catholic Research Group used their free time after school to plan a sales campaign targeting parents & guardians of the school. As their efforts coincided with Christmas both the school and the students embraced the spirit of FairTrade and the spirit of Christmas in delivering a wonderful donation that will provide life-changing meals in one of the poorest countries in the world. 20,000 Meals for Malawi!
The donation received is the equivalent of approximately 20,000 school meals in Malawi and we at Seibo are both humbled and privileged to be in a position to pass the kindness of these young people in Japan to the children of Malawi. A school meal not only provides vital nourishment for hungry children, it also provides the encouragement and motivation for many families to ensure their children attend school- and receive a vital education.
