At “Catalant,” a youth activity of the Catholic Diocese of Fukuoka, I had the opportunity to give a lecture on fair trade and introduce Seibo’s activities! Catalant serves as a place for young people who come to the church, expanding their space for activities, where members encounter the church community through their unique experiences.
We talked about how we are connected to Malawi, a distant place in Africa, and what each of us can do from Japan, starting with a cup of coffee. By changing consumption habits and transforming awareness of products, our perspective on the world changes, and we connect with others we hadn’t previously been aware of.
By sharing these experiences with many people, I hope we can work together to make the world a better place and help each person find what they can contribute.
