Seibo staff representatives Kentaro Hirano and Rei Yoshida visited Malawi.

1. Mzimba District
The two arrived in Mzimba on October 27 and visited eight primary schools together on the 28th and 29th.
During these visits, they interacted with pupils, teachers, and volunteer cooks.
They helped stir the porridge, serve it to the children, tasted it themselves, and spent time engaging with the students.
They also took part in the distribution of utensils at Chabere Primary School.

Their visit brought excitement and encouragement to the school communities.
For the children, those receiving support, and the members of the school management committees, it was deeply meaningful to meet face-to-face and interact with the people who help sustain the school feeding program.
The team from Japan also brought drip bags of “Warm Hearts Coffee.”

To conclude the Mzimba visit, we paid a courtesy call to the District Education Office and met with the District Education Manager (DEM) and the CEO.
The officials expressed their gratitude for Seibo Japan’s continued support in improving education and nutrition for children in Mzimba.
We also discussed ways to further strengthen the implementation of the school feeding program, and the meeting ended with a group photo.
On October 30, the team travelled together to Blantyre to continue monitoring the program and deepening engagement with our partners.

2. Blantyre District
In Blantyre, they visited several CBCCs and nurseries, observed classes, interacted with teachers and caregivers, and spent meaningful time with the children.
At Buwemba CBCC, they gladly helped serve porridge and donated clothes such as dresses, shirts, trousers, socks, and capes.

The young children were overjoyed, smiling from ear to ear.
Their warmth, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude made the moment truly memorable and highlighted the significant impact of Seibo Japan’s support.

② Kriver Kindergarten
“We are grateful to Seibo for promoting hygiene at our school.
Now, it has become a habit for the children to wash their hands before eating—not only before porridge, but even before snacks.

This simple routine makes a big difference in protecting their health and ensuring they can enjoy their meals,”
said the SHN (School Health and Nutrition) teacher at Kriver Kindergarten with pride.

With a warm smile and a devoted heart, Nao Kimura prepared the porridge with great care and affection.
As she stirred, the appetizing aroma of Likuni Phala filled the air, stimulating the senses and heightening the children’s anticipation of the nutritious meal to come.
It was clear that this lovingly prepared food would not only satisfy their hunger but also warm their hearts.

The children’s heartwarming smiles and joyful expressions are a reflection of their gratitude for the daily porridge served at school.

Their shining faces convey deep appreciation and show the positive impact this initiative has on their young lives.
These bright smiles constantly remind us of the value of providing nutrition and care, and encourage us to continue supporting and dedicating ourselves to this important work.

The Likuni Phala was carefully served onto plates, cooled to an appropriate temperature so that the children could eat safely and comfortably.

This thoughtful extra step clearly shows the intention of the providers—not to cause discomfort, but to deliver joy and nourishment.
Each meal is offered with the aim of supporting the wellbeing and healthy growth of the young children who receive it.

All cooks are required to wear appropriate attire such as aprons and cooking hats.
Maintaining cleanliness while preparing the porridge is of utmost importance in order to safeguard the health of these future leaders.

Nao Kimura carefully counted the plates and served the porridge accurately so that each child present would receive a portion.

The porridge is prepared based on the number of children attending that day, in order to avoid shortages or waste.
By following the standard serving quantities and ensuring that every child receives an appropriate amount of Likuni Phala, she helped provide a nutritionally balanced meal.

To express her appreciation for the work being done by the Seibo Malawi Blantyre office, Nao Kimura paid a courtesy visit to the office.
This visit also became a chance to create lasting memories of her connection with the office, while recognizing and honoring the efforts of the team, who continue to make a positive impact in the community.

The best time for conversation is often during meals, when children are enjoying their warm and comforting porridge.
As they eat, they feel relaxed and happy, making it an ideal moment to share stories and experiences.
As the children talk and listen to one another, the atmosphere fills with laughter and joy, creating precious memories of happiness and togetherness.

A warm bowl of porridge helps to nurture the future.
When the children taste their porridge, their shining smiles light up the room.
Their eyes sparkle with gratitude, expressing heartfelt thanks for this daily blessing.
This nourishing meal, which brings them comfort and joy, is often the highlight of their day.
