Monthly Report on January 2026
Date:2026.02.17

2026 has begun. This month as well, important activities were carried out across Malawi to support the future of children. Below is a detailed report from the field.

1. Meeting at St. Kizito Primary School: Reaching the Children Who Need Support Most

This month, the selection committee for the Seibo Kids Program was held at St. Kizito Primary School.
The purpose of this committee is to ensure that children from the families most in need receive priority admission to preschool. By providing a free education program, we strive to ensure that all children—regardless of their circumstances—have equal opportunities.

During lunchtime at St. Kizito Primary School, children were seen happily asking for second servings of the nutritious porridge.
Filling their stomachs is the first step toward helping children feel calm and focused as they learn.

2. Future Leaders Preschool: A New Beginning

At Future Leaders Preschool, an entrance ceremony was held for the new school year.
Parents of children recommended to the Seibo program also attended and warmly watched as their children began learning in their new environment.

3. Katondo CBCC: School Meal Support for 2026 Begins

As part of the “Feeding the Future” project, the distribution of the fortified nutrition powder Likuni Phala began at schools including Katondo CBCC (Community-Based Childcare Center).

In 2026 as well, we are doing our utmost to maintain an environment where every child can enjoy a warm bowl of porridge.

4. Kalibu Academy: Deep Cultural Exchange through Japanese Culture

Sakura visited Kalibu Academy, where the Japanese Club is active.
Victor Nthlo, the program manager, shared the following about this exchange:

“Interaction with Japanese students is not only an opportunity to learn about another culture, but also a valuable chance for Malawian students to open new doors—such as scholarships and networking opportunities.”

During the visit, the aroma of Japanese tea served during the gathering created a heartwarming moment for Sakura, reminding her of her distant hometown and the people dear to her.

School Meal Support at Each School and Its Impact

Kachimera CBCC:

Training was provided to newly appointed staff on proper data management. Accurate record-keeping forms an essential foundation for sustaining support programs.

Holy Cross Preschool:

Japanese volunteers spent time with the children, creating joyful moments filled with smiles.
In addition, the procurement of firewood, which is essential for preparing school meals, has been progressing smoothly and supports daily operations.
